The economical and technological changes in the world have effected maritime transportation and forced some structural changes. The growing speeds of the ships and the variations of their functions have helped us reach the markets on the other end of the world and the maritime transportation transformed from containers to Ro-Ro transportation. Combined transportation that can be classified as combining land, sea and air transportation together has gained a bigger importance on the field.

Turkey has a shore strip of nearly 8333 km. and there are more than 300 hundred ports, wharves, yacht marinas, piers and fisherman's shelters along that line. Çeşme Port which has been managed by The Turkish Maritime Lines between the years 1992-2003 is one of the bigger ports that doesn't have a railway connection in Turkey . Under the circumstances of privatization in Turkey, Ulusoy Enterprises has won the management rights of the port for the next thirty years starting from the date of June, 6th, 2003.
The port has been overtaken by Çeşme Ulusoy Port Management and began serving as a Domestic and External Maritime Lines Terminal, agency service supplier and port management.
Our urgent goals as the Çeşme Ulusoy Port Management are:
a) To decrease the red tape,
b) To increase the functions and productivity of port services,
c) To make use of the port sources at our best,
d) To support the national and regional competition,
e) To maintain a strong financial independence,
f) To manage the ports according to the modern operating rules,
g) To establish a convenient tariff in accordance with the rules of the
liberal economy,
h) To contribute to the regional and national economy,
i) To make the necessary investments for the port,
j) To help the ports have the latest technology,
k) To open new investment fields in port management business in the country,
l) To increase the employment in the region,
m) To make the best economic advantages of the ports,
n) To maintain the most convenient working conditions.
